  • GLASS KITCHEN BACKSPLASHES IN NEW YORK CITY

FROM $499 — SEAMLESS, GROUT-FREE, MADE TO YOUR KITCHEN

    GET A QUOTE

A glass backsplash is one continuous panel — no tiles, no grout lines, nothing for grease and steam to work into. Wiping it down takes seconds, and it stays looking the way it did on day one instead of slowly darkening along the joints the way tiled backsplashes do.

Glass Factory fabricates and installs custom kitchen backsplashes across New York City. Each panel is toughened safety glass cut to your kitchen — around outlets, switches, and the range hood — in any color, finish, or printed design you want. We measure on site, fabricate to spec, and install.

How Much Does a Glass Backsplash Cost in NYC?

Our glass kitchen backsplashes start at $499. What moves the number:

  • Area covered — A single run behind the range costs less than a full wraparound from counter to cabinets.
  • Finish — Back-painted color is the baseline; mirrored, low-iron, and textured finishes cost more.
  • Printed designs — Custom images and patterns printed into the panel are priced above solid colors.
  • Cut-outs — Outlets, switches, and openings around a range hood or window each add fabrication.
  • Number of panels — Long runs are made in sections; corners and returns affect how many pieces are needed.
  • Wall condition — Uneven or out-of-plumb walls take more work to fit cleanly.

Pricing is confirmed after a free on-site measurement. Contact us and we’ll give you a firm quote for your kitchen.

Why Glass Instead of Tile

No grout to clean

The single biggest reason people switch. Grout absorbs grease and steam and darkens over the years; a glass panel has nothing to absorb anything.

Wipes down in seconds

Cooking splatter comes off with a cloth and glass cleaner. No scrubbing between tiles.

Heat resistant behind the range

Toughened glass handles the heat of a cooktop, which is exactly where tile grout tends to fail first.

Any color, exactly

Back-painted glass can be matched to a specific color rather than chosen from whatever tile is in stock.

Makes a small kitchen feel bigger

A reflective, seamless surface bounces light around instead of breaking it up across dozens of tiles — noticeable in a narrow New York kitchen.

Installs over existing tile

In many cases a glass panel can go straight over an existing tiled backsplash — no demolition, no dust, no kitchen out of use for a week.

Cut-Outs, Edges & Installation

Outlets & switches — Measured and cut before toughening, so every opening lines up with what’s already on the wall.

Range hood & window returns — Panels shaped around hoods, windows, and awkward corners rather than stopped short of them.

Edges — Polished on every visible edge; the top and bottom edges sit tight to the counter and cabinets.

Mounting — Bonded to the wall with an adhesive suited to the substrate, with silicone sealing along the counter line.

Over existing tile — Where the tile is flat and sound, the glass goes over it — no demolition and no dust.

Uneven walls — New York kitchen walls are rarely flat; mounting is adjusted so the panel sits true without visible gaps.

How It Works

01

Free Measurement

We measure the run, note every outlet, switch, and obstruction, and check whether the wall is flat and plumb.

02

Color & Finish Selection

Choose the finish from samples — in your kitchen, under your lighting, since color reads differently there than in a showroom.

03

Fabrication

The panel is cut to your dimensions, cut-outs are made, edges are polished, and the glass is toughened and finished.

04

Installation

Our installers bond the panel, fit it around fixtures, and seal the counter line. Most kitchens are done in a single visit.

Built for New York Kitchens

New York kitchens are small, awkward, and rarely square — a galley in a pre-war building has walls that lean and outlets in inconvenient places. A backsplash panel has to be cut to the wall that exists, not the one on the drawing. That’s why we measure on site rather than working from your numbers, and why the panel arrives fitting the first time. In apartment buildings we handle the access side too — COI documentation and coordination with building management where it’s required.

FAQ

Yes — a glass backsplash is one of the easiest kitchen surfaces to maintain. It installs as a single seamless panel with no grout lines, so grease and splatter wipe off in one pass with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. There’s nowhere for grime or mold to collect the way it does in tiled grout.

Yes. We use tempered glass, which is heat-treated to handle the heat coming off a working cooktop without issue. Mounted flat against the wall, it leaves no gap for steam or grease to slip behind. It’s a safe, durable choice for the area directly behind a stove.

Yes. Back-painted glass can be color-matched to virtually any shade, including custom and designer palettes, so the backsplash ties into your cabinets and countertops. We can also do printed images or textures for a custom look. The color sits behind the glass, protected from heat and cleaning.

Yes. Every cutout for outlets, switches, and vents is measured and fabricated before installation, so the panel arrives ready to fit your exact wall. We template around uneven corners and offset fixtures common in older NYC kitchens. The result lines up cleanly with no on-site guesswork.
